It was great to read last night’s announcements that Brunei expects to begin the Transition Phase from Friday 19th November. With restaurants, gyms, malls etc re-opening, although with limitations. The principal components expected to be relevant for club operations are:
50% normal capacity – in dining and pool area and in the pool and in boats.
Everyone entering must be double vaccinated with green or yellow status in BruHealth App.
Everyone entering must pass a temperature check
Everyone must maintain social distancing (1.5m) and wear facemasks (except when eating).
Your committee has already been discussing steps to re-start the boatyard launching, dinghy sailing, beach recreation and restaurant operations. I will write with more details in the near future.
While COVID-19 has made club operations quiet, your committee has been busy:
A new computerised system has been created to manage guest entry.
New requirements for the number of guests, semi and exclusive hire etc are being developed in response to the recently received Registrar of Society letter. This relates principally to the management of non-member entry.
Club staff have been double vaccinated and are working to a Business Continuation Plan to help ensure operations can be sustained.
Your committee and the club staff and caterers are working to be ready for Friday 19th November.
